On November 1, 2011, the Portage County Board of Commissioners launched a new program to help County residents deal with the high cost of prescription medications. Through a partnership with the National Association of Counties, the free Prescription Discount Card program provides area residents with a card that offers an average of 24 percent savings off the retail price of prescription medications.
